Kia America Collaborates With The Nature Conservancy To Enhance Freshwater Conservation Efforts
Kia America has announced a partnership with The Nature Conservancy (TNC) to promote freshwater conservation in the United States. Over three years, Kia will contribute $3 million to help TNC conserve 1 million kilometers of rivers and 30 million hectares of lakes, wetlands, and floodplains by 2030. This initiative begins on World Water Day, March 22, 2025, aiming to educate people about the importance of freshwater ecosystems.
Russell Wager, Kia America's vice president of marketing, emphasised the significance of water conservation. "Water is one of our most precious resources, and we have a responsibility to help protect it for future generations," he stated. By collaborating with TNC, Kia aims to inspire customers and communities to join efforts in safeguarding essential water bodies.

The collaboration will support various projects aimed at protecting freshwater ecosystems. Key initiatives include restoring wetlands to mitigate flooding impacts, improving water quality, and enhancing habitats for wildlife. Additionally, Kia will back TNC's work with Indigenous and local communities to foster healthier ecosystems for both people and nature.
This joint effort focuses on modernising water infrastructure for ecological health. It also involves implementing natural processes to boost resilience against disasters and advancing sustainable agricultural water management policies. These efforts aim to create more resilient communities and a healthier planet.
Kia's involvement with TNC highlights its dedication to environmental stewardship and community engagement. In recent years, Kia has increased investments in eco-friendly programs like reducing ocean plastic pollution. Supporting wetland restoration aligns with their broader commitment to sustainability.
Nicole Silk from TNC expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: "Water is the lifeblood of the planet... We must all do our part to protect these ecosystems." She added that combining TNC's conservation expertise with Kia's innovative sustainability approach aims to restore freshwater habitats while promoting clean water access.
