KGM Rexton Commercial Van Launches With Superior 4WD Capabilities And Value For Businesses
KGM Motors UK has unveiled the new Rexton Commercial vehicle, designed for versatility and durability. This model, showcased at the Commercial Vehicle Show 2025 in Birmingham, offers a blend of cargo space, comfort, and off-road capability. It features a 3.5-tonne towing capacity and is available in three trims: K30, K40, and K50. The vehicle is priced from £34,995 CVOTR.
The Rexton Commercial is equipped with a powerful 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine that meets Euro-6 standards. This engine delivers 202PS and 441Nm of torque between 1600-2600 rpm. The vehicle's 8-speed automatic transmission ensures smooth acceleration and refined performance. Its advanced shift-by-wire system allows electronic control of gear changes.
With a robust ladder chassis, the Rexton can tow up to 3,500kg (unbraked 750kg). It includes Trailer Sway Control (TSC) to enhance stability by correcting trailer sway automatically. The vehicle's wading depth is 350mm with approach and departure angles of 20.5° and 22°, respectively.
The Rexton prioritises safety with its high-strength steel body-on-frame construction. Approximately 82% of its steel plates are high-tensile, ensuring cabin protection during collisions. It features six airbags and various electronic safety aids like rain sensor wipers and tyre pressure monitoring.
Inside, the Rexton Commercial boasts a sophisticated infotainment system with DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto support, and a rear-view camera on a large screen. The K40 and K50 trims offer additional features like Nappa leather seats and an 'around-view' monitoring system for easier parking.
The load area provides over 2,200 litres of space with a payload exceeding 700kg. Access is facilitated by a top-hinged power tailgate and side doors for flexibility in loading items without moving bulky objects.
Trim Levels Offering Diverse Features
The entry-level K30 trim includes LED lights, luxury faux leather seats, an infotainment screen, alloy wheels, and a powered tailgate. The K40 adds Nappa leather seats and extra safety features like blind spot detection. The top-tier K50 includes larger alloy wheels, a sunroof, rear air conditioning, and upgraded interior materials.
KGM Motors UK operates as the official importer of KGM vehicles in the UK since acquiring distribution rights in 2011. The company plans to expand its dealer network to 80 locations by 2024 to offer customers SUVs and pick-ups with generous specifications at competitive prices.
Advanced All-Wheel Drive System
The Rexton's all-wheel drive system enhances driving stability across various terrains using selectable modes based on road conditions. Primarily operating in two-wheel drive mode, it allows switching to four-wheel drive when needed for better traction.
KGM Global specialises in producing reliable vehicles like SUVs and pick-up trucks since its establishment in Korea in 1954. Its headquarters are located in Seoul's Gangnam district with manufacturing facilities capable of producing up to 240,000 cars annually.
The Rexton Commercial qualifies for VAT benefits and commercial vehicle taxation incentives such as capital write-down eligibility. It has an initial VED cost of £345 for the first year.
Insurance ratings are yet to be confirmed while servicing intervals are set at every 12 months or after covering 10,000 miles. A monthly service plan starts from £43 per month along with warranty coverage extending up to five years or 100-000 miles including anti-corrosion protection for six years.
