Jett Lawrence Scheduled For Surgery Following Torn ACL Injury At Glendale Supercross
Jett Lawrence, the reigning AMA Supercross Champion, suffered a significant injury during the Glendale Supercross event. He tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee and will undergo surgery soon. The injury occurred when Lawrence put his foot down to maintain balance during the third race of the Glendale Triple Crown. Despite initial checks showing no severe damage, an MRI confirmed the ACL tear.
This injury has major implications for Lawrence's title defense. Currently ranked fifth in the AMA Supercross 450 standings, his chances of retaining the championship are now slim. The recovery timeline remains uncertain, leaving fans and team members hopeful for a swift return.
"I found out today that I tore my ACL and am having surgery tomorrow to repair it," Jett said. "I'm not exactly sure when I'll be able to return, but rehabbing will be my new fulltime job, so I hope to see you guys as soon as possible! I'm super-bummed to let the fans down, and I can't wait to get back out there."
The Honda HRC Progressive team is rallying behind Lawrence during this challenging time. Brandon Wilson from American Honda expressed disappointment over the setback but remains optimistic about Lawrence's recovery. "We're all absolutely gutted for Jett, as we had high hopes for him winning another Supercross title this season," he stated.
Wilson highlighted Lawrence's impressive speed despite earlier setbacks in the season. He noted that injuries are part of racing and assured that Honda will continue supporting their active riders fully. The team looks forward to seeing Lawrence return stronger after his recovery.

Meanwhile, Honda HRC Progressive is preparing for the upcoming AMA Supercross round in Tampa, Florida. Hunter Lawrence will compete in the 450SX division, while Chance Hymas is considering participation as he recovers from his own ACL surgery.
The Tampa event also marks the start of the 250SX East series. The team's focus remains on providing robust support to its riders while navigating these challenges.
