Jett Lawrence demonstrated remarkable speed, improving significantly from round one. He started just inside the top 10 but advanced to second place by mid-race. He then pressured leader Eli Tomac, finishing only 1.518 seconds behind. In the 250SX West division, Jo Shimoda had a strong start but ran wide at the first turn, ending up midpack. Despite hand injuries sustained during qualifying, he fought through pain to secure seventh place and valuable points. This marked Shimoda's first time holding the red plate in his career.

During qualifying sessions, Jett Lawrence achieved the second-best time overall in the 450 class, while Hunter was 11th. Shimoda was fourth-quickest in 250SX West. In heat races, Jett led from start to finish in his race, while Hunter overcame a midpack start to secure sixth place.

Other notable qualifiers included Dylan Ferrandis and Shane McElrath from Phoenix Honda Racing and Joey Savatgy from Quadlock Honda Racing. Ryan Breece secured his spot through the last-chance qualifier by finishing third.

Team Manager's Perspective

Lars Lindstrom, Team Manager, expressed pride in his team's resilience despite challenges faced by Hunter and Jo. "Today was a challenging day for the team," he said. "Hunter being very under the weather and Jo having his incident in practice that broke two fingers on his left hand."

Lindstrom praised their determination: "Overall, I'm extremely proud of our athletes for really gritting their teeth and showing everyone what warriors they are." He also acknowledged improvements made by Jett Lawrence and thanked the crew for enhancing bike performance.
