Jeep Performance Parts Introduces Innovative Rooftop Tent Concept At Overland Expo West
The Awning and Rooftop Tent (ARTT) concept is a new camping solution for the Jeep Wrangler. This innovative system, designed in collaboration with Dometic, combines an awning and rooftop tent into one lightweight unit. It will be showcased at the Overland Expo West on the Jeep Wrangler 4xe Sunchaser concept, which was first seen at the 2025 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah.
Rooftop tents are gaining popularity among overlanding enthusiasts. However, they often face challenges like poor aerodynamics and added weight. The ARTT concept addresses these issues with its carbon-fibre shell, offering a lightweight and aerodynamic solution that attaches directly to the Jeep Wrangler's roof without needing a heavy rack.
The ARTT system includes a tent that can be easily pitched using Dometic’s AIR Frame Inflation technology. It also features an integrated awning that extends 270 degrees. Inside, there's space for a queen-size mattress. A unique feature is access to the tent from inside the Jeep through removed freedom panels, along with an interior step made of carbon fibre to protect the console.
Mike Koval, senior vice president and head of sales operations for the Jeep brand, stated: "The lightweight and compact JPP Awning and Rooftop Tent concept is the perfect accessory for adventure-seeking Jeep Wrangler owners, whether they are overlanding across long distances or decide to go on a spur-of-the-moment quick weekend getaway."
The ARTT system is displayed on the Jeep Wrangler 4xe Sunchaser concept. This vehicle features a striking solar flash and satin black two-tone exterior. It's equipped for outdoor adventures with gear for multi-day activities. The vehicle includes several conceptual exterior components enhancing its off-road capabilities.
Notable modifications include a 2-inch lift kit, vented high-top steel fender flares, side storage boxes with MOLLE panels, a Warn winch with custom guard, 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 tires, roof storage rack, and rock rails. Interior changes feature custom leather seats and trim pieces painted gloss black.
Development Through Stellantis Star*Up Program
The JPP ARTT concept was developed under Stellantis' Star*Up intrapreneurship program. This initiative encourages employees to innovate by creating mobility products focused on consumer needs. The program fosters entrepreneurial spirit within Stellantis to develop cutting-edge solutions.
