Exciting Launches In Indian Automobile Market For March 2025
The Indian automobile market is set for an exciting March with the launch of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara and two luxury cars. The first quarter of 2025 has already been eventful, thanks to Auto Expo 2025 in January and various car launches in February. As March approaches, more vehicles are expected to hit the roads, adding to the excitement.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara
Maruti Suzuki is preparing to introduce its first electric vehicle in India, the e Vitara, next month. This EV retains many design elements from the eVX concept shown in 2023, such as a robust stance and prominent LED headlights. The SUV will come standard with 18-inch wheels and feature an LED light bar at the rear.
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara's cabin offers a more premium feel compared to other Maruti models in India. The top-spec variant includes features like a floating 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated front seats, and more advanced safety features such as seven airbags and a Level 2 ADAS suite.
Two LFP battery options will be available for the e Vitara: one with a capacity of 49kWh producing 143hp and another with a capacity of 61kWh generating 173hp. Both versions deliver a torque output of 192.5Nm, while Maruti Suzuki claims that the larger battery pack offers a range of up to 500km based on MIDC testing.
Volvo XC90 Facelift
The Volvo XC90 facelift will be available from March 4, 2025. Since its introduction in India in 2016, this SUV has been due for a refresh. The updated model borrows exterior design cues from the EX90 electric SUV, including a new grille with diagonal slats and slimmer headlights.
Inside, the XC90 facelift boasts an upgraded 11.2-inch Google-based touchscreen infotainment system that supports over-the-air updates. The powertrain remains unchanged with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol mild-hybrid engine delivering 250hp and 360Nm of torque through an 8-speed automatic gearbox to all four wheels.
Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series
The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series will debut in India on March 17, 2025. This luxury roadster builds upon the Mercedes-Benz SL and is touted as Maybach's sportiest model yet. It features Maybach's signature dual-tone paint scheme and a new grille with vertical slats.
The interior of the SL 680 includes white Nappa leather seats and a white dashboard with satin silver trim pieces. Despite its luxury focus, it houses a powerful 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 585hp and 800Nm of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0-100kph in just 4.1 seconds.
