In contrast, Honda City sold only 491 units in May, reflecting a significant year-on-year fall of 53.42%. However, it did see an improvement in month-on-month sales by increasing by about one-fifth.

The Maruti Ciaz recorded sales figures at just under half-a-thousand with numbers down by over one-third compared to last year but showing an upward trend from April's numbers by nearly half again as much.

Toyota Camry managed to grow its year-on-year figures by over three-fifths despite being considered niche while experiencing slight monthly declines; meanwhile Skoda Superb registered minimal activity this past May having sold only two vehicles compared against four during same period last annum.

Overall analysis reveals that although there is struggle maintaining momentum annually within this segment; monthly improvements suggest renewed interest particularly amongst compact/sub-compact categories spearheaded chiefly through efforts made via brands such as Maruti & Hyundai respectively.
