India’s Top 10 Sedan Cars In 2025: Maruti Suzuki, Volkswagen, Honda & More
Sedan cars, once dominant in the Indian market, have gradually fallen behind the big and dominant SUVs in terms of sales numbers. Yet, the sedans continue to hold a significant market share in the Indian car market, especially after the arrival of models like the Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia. In India, sedans remain a popular choice among buyers thanks to their practicality, comfort, and Boot space.

10. Tata Tigor
Tata Motors' only sedan car is the Tata Tigor, which is built on the same platform as the Tiago Hatchback. The Tata Tigor is powered by a 1.2L Revotron petrol engine that produces 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. It is mated with a 5-speed manual transmission.
Additionally, it also has a CNG option, a Shark fin Antenna, LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, a Digital instrument cluster, a 26.03cm Infotainment system, 6 airbags and push-button start. The price of the Tata Tigor starts at 5.49 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
9. Hyundai Aura
Hyundai's compact sedan, the Aura, is sold in the budget segment. It is built on the same platform as the i10 hatchback. The Aura has a 1.2L Bi-Fuel (Petrol and CNG) engine that produces 69 PS of power and 95.2 Nm of torque. It is mated with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The features include an 8-inch infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 6 airbags, Keyless entry, cruise control, wireless charging, and Automatic headlamps. The Aura is sold at 5.98 lakhs (ex-showroom).
8. Toyota Camry
The entry-level Premium sedan is priced at 47.62 lakhs (ex-showroom), and it comes with a hybrid powertrain that delivers a maximum fuel efficiency of 25.49 KMPL. The 2.5L Petrol/hybrid engine is equipped with an E-CVT transmission and multiple driving modes.
The Camry includes features such as a 12.3-inch Multi-Infotainment display, LED setup, Soft leatherette upholstery, wireless smartphone connectivity, 10-way power adjustable seats, rear armrest with touch control, Moon roof, a HUD display, 3-zone climate control, and JBL Audio system with 9 speakers, and for safety, it gets Toyota Safety Sense with ADAS.
7. BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe
The German luxury car makers' most affordable cars are the 2 Series. With the new GST benefits, the 2 series is selling at 45.30 lakhs (ex-showroom). BMW call it a coupe, but it looks more like a premium sedan. It features a 1,499cc twin power turbo petrol engine that produces 156 hp of power and 230 Nm of torque, and is mated with a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission.
It is equipped with features such as LED lights, 18-inch Light alloy wheels, Sports seats, 12 high-performance speakers powered by a Harman Kardon sound system, a panoramic glass roof and much more.
6. Honda City
One of the longest production model Sedan cars in India is the Honda City. It is powered by a 1.5L NA i-VTEC engine that produces 121 PS of power and 145 NM of torque, mated with a 6-speed manual and 7-speed CVT transmission. The price of the Honda City starts at 11.95 lakhs (ex-showroom).

5. Skoda Slavia

India's best-selling sedan of the year 2025 is the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. It consistently tops the mass-market sedan sales charts, with monthly sales often crossing 20,000 units. The Dzire starts at ₹6.25 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the most accessible and reliable sedans in the country.
Powering the Dzire is a 1.2-litre Z-Series petrol engine that produces 81.58 PS and 111.7 Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki also offers a CNG variant, capable of delivering an impressive 33.73 km/kg, while the AGS (automatic) petrol variant returns up to 25.79 km/l.
