IMSA Unveils 2026 WeatherTech Championship And Michelin Pilot Challenge Schedules With Consistent Venues
The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) has announced its 2026 schedule during the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. This marks the second year in a row that IMSA has released its calendar this early, setting a precedent among major motorsports championships. The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will maintain its 11 venues from 2025 into 2026, ensuring stability and consistency for participants and fans alike.
"The collaboration between IMSA and our event and promoter partners has allowed us to reveal our 2026 calendar at such an early date for a second consecutive season," said IMSA President John Doonan. "This collective spirit will help our paddock and fans in preparation for next season, even as we have the majority of the 2025 season still to run."
The IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge will also retain its 10-race schedule from 2025 into 2026. This consistency benefits Grand Sport (GS) and Touring Car (TCR) class competitors. The series will accompany the WeatherTech Championship at all events except street races in Long Beach and Detroit. A highlight is the four-hour endurance race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course from June 5-7.
This four-hour race at Mid-Ohio joins another four-hour event at Daytona, while the remaining eight rounds will last two hours each. The schedule includes stops at iconic tracks like Watkins Glen, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Road America, VIR, Indianapolis, and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca is a renowned motorsport venue located in Monterey, California. Managed by Friends of Laguna Seca, a non-profit organisation, it is famous for hosting top-tier racing events. The track's challenging turns and elevation changes, including the Corkscrew, offer thrilling experiences for drivers and spectators.
