Hyundai Targets Continued Success At WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca Following Strong Start To 2025 Season
Hyundai Motor America is set to continue its impressive performance in the 2025 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. After securing victories at Daytona and Sebring, Hyundai leads the IMPC Manufacturers' Championship with 700 points. The team aims to maintain this momentum during the upcoming Monterey SportsCar Championship weekend.
The Hyundai Elantra N TCR achieved a remarkable 1-2 finish at Daytona, with Dennis Dupont and Preston Brown in the No. 76 car, and Mark Wilkins and Bryson Morris in the No. 33 car leading most of the race. This success was followed by another win at Sebring, where Harry Gottsacker and Mason Filippi in the No. 98 car secured victory, extending Hyundai's podium streak at Sebring to six seasons.
As they head into the manufacturer's race weekend, Hyundai drivers hold top positions in the IMPC TCR class driver standings. Dennis Dupont and Preston Brown lead with 590 points in the No. 76 car, closely followed by Harry Gottsacker and Mason Filippi with 580 points in the No. 98 car. These performances have positioned Hyundai as strong contenders for the championship.
The WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca 120 is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, starting at 12:45 p.m. PDT. Fans can watch live coverage on NBC's Peacock platform. Teams are eager to build on Hyundai's early-season success and aim for another victory.
Hyundai Hope on Wheels has committed to donating $100 for every lap a Hyundai Elantra N TCR leads throughout the 2024-2025 season. So far, $13,600 has been raised to support pediatric cancer research following strong performances at Daytona and Sebring.
