Hyundai Santa Fe And IONIQ 5 N Recognised With AJAC's Vehicle Of The Year Awards For 2025

Hyundai Auto Canada has announced that two of its vehicles have received prestigious awards from the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC). The Hyundai Santa Fe was named Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year, while the all-electric IONIQ 5 N earned the title of Canadian Electric Utility Vehicle of the Year. These accolades highlight the vehicles' exceptional performance and innovative features.

With this recognition, Hyundai continues its success streak with AJAC awards. The Santa Fe's win marks the third time in four years that Hyundai has secured the Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year award. Previously, the Tucson and IONIQ 5 won in 2022 and 2023, respectively. Meanwhile, the IONIQ 5 N's award is the fourth major AJAC accolade for the all-electric IONIQ lineup in just two years.

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 N represents a significant achievement in electric vehicle engineering as Hyundai's first N brand electric performance vehicle. A standout feature of the IONIQ 5 N is its powerful electric motors, which produce an impressive 641 horsepower (478 kW) with N Grin Boost engaged. This allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, delivering an exhilarating driving experience that exceeds expectations.

Recognition and Achievements

The IONIQ 5 N has not only been recognized by AJAC but also won the title of the 2024 World Performance Car Award. Additionally, it was named Car of the Year by popular Canadian YouTube channel Throttle House and other global outlets, further demonstrating its exceptional performance and acclaim.
