Hyundai Palisade SUV Set To Arrive In India By 2028 - The Big New Flagship?
Hyundai is preparing to introduce the Palisade SUV in India, marking it as the flagship model in their lineup. According to a new report, the Palisade will launch in India in 2028. This launch is part of a broader strategy that includes the arrival of 26 vehicles (updates and new cars) including the Hyundai Bayon sub-compact SUV, which will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
The Palisade will feature a 2.5-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain and a distinctive design. The Palisade's hybrid powertrain offers a combined output of 334hp and 460Nm from its 2.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. It boasts a claimed fuel efficiency of 14.1kpl and an impressive driving range of 1,015km. Compared to a standard petrol engine, this setup enhances efficiency by 45%, power by 19%, and torque by 9%. In India, only the hybrid version is expected to be available.
The latest-generation Palisade, unveiled in December 2024, showcases a bold design reminiscent of Range Rover models. Its standout features include vertically slatted LED headlights and tail-lamps, a wide grille, and large 21-inch alloy wheels. Silver accents on the body cladding, D-pillars, and roof rails add to its imposing presence.
Hyundai Palisade Interior Features
The interior of the Palisade is designed for comfort and convenience. It offers a three-row seating arrangement accommodating up to eight passengers. For enhanced comfort in the middle row, captain seats with deployable footrests are available. The dashboard features dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and driver display.
A fingerprint sensor on the centre console allows for engine start and valet mode activation. The console also houses physical controls for media and HVAC functions, along with ample storage space and wireless charging capabilities. Additional features include a rear parking camera cleaning system and a digital key.
The Palisade comes equipped with advanced technology such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, powered seats with heating and cooling options, a panoramic sunroof, and a premium Bose sound system with 14 speakers. Safety features include an ADAS suite, built-in dashcam, and vehicle-to-load functionality.
Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Powertrain Details
The hybrid powertrain enhances ride quality through systems like 'e-Comfort Drive’ which reduces vertical movement over speed bumps. Handling benefits from 'e-Dynamic Drive’, incorporating e-DTVC for torque vectoring to reduce understeer, e-EHA for grip during sudden steering inputs, and e-Handling for improved traction while cornering.
The Palisade hybrid comes standard with front-wheel drive but offers an all-wheel drive option as well. It includes three driving modes: Eco, Sport, and My Drive; alongside terrain modes like Mud, Snow, and Sand to adapt to various conditions.
Hyundai Palisade Price in India
In India, the Palisade's price might range between Rs 40 lakh to Rs 50 lakh due to localisation efforts aimed at making it competitive in the market. In comparison, US prices start at $36,800 (around Rs 31.60 lakh), supporting this expected pricing strategy.
