Hyundai N Trophy Cup Launches In North America With Exciting Racing Opportunities
The Hyundai N Trophy Cup is set to begin its 2025 season with an exciting competition on April 24. The opening race will take place at the Circuit of the Americas near Austin, Texas, as part of the TC America series powered by Skip Barber. This event marks the start of a thrilling series-within-a-series for Hyundai competitors.
Hyundai's racing program offers more than just participation in TC America. Competitors will vie for additional accolades within the Hyundai N Trophy Cup. The series includes races at Sebring, Barber Motorsports Park, and concludes with the TC America finale at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The points system for Hyundai's 2025 Contingency Program rewards top performers. In TC America, first place earns $4,000 per car, second place $3,000, and third place $2,000. For the Hyundai N Trophy Cup rounds at COTA, Sebring, Barber, and Indy, the top finishing Hyundai receives $1,500 per car.
End-of-season awards include $5,000 for the Hyundai Manufacturer Championship team and $10,000 for the TC America Driver Champion. The Hyundai N Trophy Cup Champion and N Racing Scholar each receive $5,000. The season champion also gets to compete in South Korea's 2025 Hyundai N Festival one-make race series.
Exceptional drivers from the series will have a chance to test drive an Elantra N TCR car with Bryan Herta Autosport after the season ends. "Since entering the North American sports car racing scene, Hyundai has consistently demonstrated its commitment to excellence and innovation," said Jeff Ricca of Ricca Autosport.
Hyundai has secured five manufacturers’ titles in both IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and SRO’s TC America Championship Powered by Skip Barber Racing School. At season's end, one driver will be named an N Racing Scholar and get to compete in the 2026 Nürburgring 24-hour endurance race.
Selection Criteria for N Racing Scholar
The selection process for the N Racing Scholar considers both on-track performance and off-track conduct throughout the TC America season. Judges include current Hyundai racing executives and professional drivers who evaluate candidates based on these criteria.
Ricca Autosport serves as the official sales agent for TC-America-eligible Hyundai Elantra N1 TC Evo race cars. Interested racers can reach out to Jeff Ricca via email at [email protected] for more information about these vehicles.
