Hyundai Motor Company and its Robotics LAB division have achieved significant recognition at the Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2025. The City Pod and Urban Pod concepts were awarded the 'Best of the Best' in the Autonomous category. These innovations highlight Hyundai's commitment to advancing autonomous technology in logistics and public transport.
The City Pod is a hydrogen-powered logistics solution that addresses current system limitations with advanced software. It features an automatic classification system, making it versatile for logistics, public transportation, and hydrogen energy distribution. Meanwhile, the Urban Pod is an electric vehicle designed for various environments, including digital twin systems and last-mile mobility.
Hyundai's Nano Mobility concept was recognized as a 'Winner' in the Bicycles and Personal Mobility Devices category. This design integrates autonomous driving with ride-hailing platforms, enhancing mobility options for daily use and micro logistics. Its simple in-wheel motor structure supports Purpose Built Mobility.
The E3W and E4W concepts also received 'Winner' awards in the Commercial Vehicles category. These electric designs reimagine India's motor rickshaw, serving as efficient people movers or rapid-response emergency vehicles. They offer flexible solutions for both passenger transport and logistics.
The Group’s Robotics LAB earned a 'Winner' award in Service Design for its Automatic Charging Robot (ACR) Service. This AI-driven technology enables seamless EV charging by automatically locating charging ports. Users can monitor the process via infotainment screens or mobile devices without leaving their vehicles.
The ACR system boasts IP65-rated dust and water resistance, ensuring reliable outdoor operation. This innovation underscores Hyundai's dedication to integrating AI technology into practical applications, enhancing user convenience and safety.
