Under his guidance, the brands have gained global acclaim for their blend of technology and design excellence.

Peter Schreyer began his journey with Kia in 2006 as Chief Design Officer after starting his career at Audi and later moving to Volkswagen. Schreyer played a crucial role in redefining Kia's brand image globally. After retiring at the end of 2023, he continued mentoring students through various programs under the Group’s partnership with the Royal College of Art. "It is an incredible honor to receive this award," said Schreyer. "It belongs to the many creative and dedicated teams I’ve had the privilege to work with."

Giorgetto Giugiaro's Historic Contribution

The awards also celebrated Giorgetto Giugiaro for his historic contributions to Hyundai's early designs. Giugiaro designed the iconic 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupe concept and South Korea’s first mass-produced car, the production Hyundai Pony. Both Donckerwolke and Schreyer regard him as a key inspirational figure.

K.C. Crain, President and CEO of Crain Communications, remarked on their impact: "Peter Schreyer and Luc Donckerwolke have helped redefine what modern automotive design means – not just for Hyundai Motor Group but for the entire industry." Their work has elevated design as a strategic force within automotive development.
