Hyundai Motor CEO José Muñoz Highlights Commitment To Quality And Customer Service At Namyang Town Hall
Hyundai Motor CEO José Muñoz recently held a town hall meeting at the Namyang R&D Center, marking his first such event since becoming CEO. He emphasized the importance of open communication and shared his strategic vision for the company. Muñoz highlighted Hyundai's commitment to customer-centric operations and delivering high-quality products to enhance global competitiveness.
Muñoz underscored Hyundai's leadership in electric vehicles (EVs) and autonomous driving technology. He pointed out that success would come through technological advancements and strategic partnerships. "We will succeed by continuing to deliver beautifully designed, high-quality vehicles with technology that customers want. We must treat our customers as honored guests and provide exceptional service," he stated.
The Namyang R&D Center, celebrating its 30th anniversary, plays a crucial role in Hyundai's innovation efforts. The facility supports comprehensive vehicle and technology development. It is instrumental in Hyundai's position as a top global mobility brand, leading product strategies tailored to local markets while ensuring industry-leading quality, safety, and technology innovations.
During the town hall, attended by over 800 employees including key executives like Heui Won Yang and Hae In Kim, Muñoz shared insights from his extensive experience in the automotive industry. Since joining Hyundai in 2019, he has driven significant growth and profitability. "It’s an honor to serve our customers, employees, dealers, suppliers and other stakeholders in this new capacity," he expressed.
The session was livestreamed globally to Hyundai colleagues across various regions including Seoul headquarters, China, Japan, UAE, India, Indonesia, and Australia. This allowed for direct dialogue between leadership and employees worldwide. Muñoz addressed questions on global EV adoption challenges: "We continue to lead the transition to electrification... More powertrain choices across our lineup are emblematic of our flexible approach."
Muñoz also discussed autonomous driving technology's potential to enhance safety by reducing accidents while offering convenience. "Autonomous driving has incredible potential... Our Advanced Vehicle Platform division is doing a great job leading this internally here in Namyang," he noted.

Muñoz concluded by encouraging all Hyundai employees globally to strive for excellence with a customer service mindset.
