Hyundai Motor America Achieves Record-Breaking Sales In April 2025 With Strong Demand For Electrified Vehicles
Hyundai Motor America achieved record-breaking sales in April 2025, with a total of 81,503 units sold. This marked a 19% increase compared to April 2024. It was the seventh consecutive month of record sales for the company. Models like Elantra, Santa Fe, Sonata, Tucson, and Palisade set new sales records for April.
Electrified vehicle sales rose by 25% in April, with hybrid models seeing a significant 46% increase. Internal combustion engine vehicles also experienced a growth of 17%. Randy Parker, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor North America, stated, "April total sales continued its upward trajectory with a 25% year-over-year increase in electrified vehicle sales, led by strong demand for the Tucson HEV."
In response to market dynamics and potential tariff impacts, Hyundai launched the Customer Assurance program. This initiative aims to maintain the current Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) and support American consumers. The program underscores Hyundai's commitment to affordability.
The all-new 2026 Hyundai Palisade SUV made its debut at the New York International Auto Show. This new-generation model builds on the success of its predecessor, which saw its best-ever sales year in 2024 with a 23% increase. The Palisade XRT PRO was also introduced at the show, ready for family adventures.
The Hyundai IONIQ 9 was named one of WardsAuto's 2025 Wards 10 Best Interiors & UX. The award evaluates vehicles based on design, comfort, materials, and connectivity features that enhance user experience. Additionally, Hyundai was recognised as the most awarded brand in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Best Hybrid & Electric Cars list.
Hyundai INSTER received the title of 2025 World Electric Vehicle at the World Car Awards during the New York International Auto Show. Furthermore, Hyundai secured six awards at the 2025 Red Dot Award: Product Design competition for various innovations including the IONIQ 9 and Global EV Home Charger.

Hyundai Hope on Wheels celebrated its 27th anniversary by donating $27 million to pediatric cancer research. Since its inception in 1998, this nonprofit has contributed $277 million to medical institutions nationwide and supported over 25,000 children battling cancer.
