Hyundai Motor And Kia Highlight Open Innovation Platforms With 10 Startups At CES 2025
Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Corporation are showcasing their open innovation platforms, ZER01NE and Hyundai CRADLE, at CES 2025 from January 7-10. This exhibition underscores their dedication to fostering innovation globally. The event highlights collaborations with startups in future mobility, AI, robotics, and sustainable solutions. The public can visit the exhibition at the Venetian Expo, Eureka Park, Booth 60301.
ZER01NE VENTURES is Hyundai Motor and Kia's platform for nurturing creative talent. It collaborates with startups to develop innovative solutions for societal challenges. Since its launch in 2000, ZER01NE has spun off 36 in-house ventures. Over seven years, it has invested in 107 startups through ZER01NE Fund I/II and completed 144 collaborative projects by mid-2024.
The exhibition features ten global startups presenting cutting-edge technologies in various fields. These include future mobility, AI, robotics, and sustainable materials. Key highlights are CRADLE-Startup Panel Discussions and in-booth sessions with ZER01NE portfolio startups and CRADLE representatives. These sessions aim to expand global engagement and explore synergistic opportunities within the open innovation ecosystem.
Hyundai CRADLE operates as a global open innovation hub for Hyundai Motor Group. It is present in Silicon Valley, Tel Aviv, Berlin, Beijing, and Singapore. CRADLE leverages regional technological strengths to identify and invest in emerging innovative startups. To date, it has executed 141 projects and made 46 investments.
Among the exhibiting startups is Deep In Sight, which uses 3D sensing technology and AI for smart automation across various sectors like mobility and logistics. Narnia Labs focuses on generative AI-based solutions for manufacturing industries to reduce costs and speed up production processes.
Terracle specialises in chemical recycling of waste plastics using green technology. Their process allows infinite recycling of plastics without environmental harm by reverting them to raw materials like recycled terephthalic acid (CR-TPA) and recycled ethylene glycol (CR-EG).
Innovative Technologies Highlighted
Tesollo has developed the Delto Gripper Series robotic gripper for automation systems aimed at achieving full factory automation without manual labour. Capture 6 offers Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology that captures carbon dioxide from the atmosphere while generating clean water resources through integration with seawater desalination facilities.
The Smart Tire Company presents an airless tire made from shape memory alloy (NiTinol), enhancing fuel efficiency while preventing tread wear. Koop.ai provides customised insurance solutions for autonomous vehicles through an API-powered platform.
Driving Global Startup Success
MADDE transforms SiC manufacturing using proprietary 3D printers that reduce lead times and costs while enabling complex designs for semiconductor industries. Meanwhile, 3I Solution uses neutron activation technology for non-destructive industrial element analysis to enhance manufacturing efficiency.

InvaLab offers nature-based solutions for ecological restoration by embedding science into traditional methods for controlling invasive alien species disrupting ecosystems.
