Hyundai IONIQ 9 Recognised As Favourite Plug-In Electric Vehicle By Midwest Automotive Media Association

The Hyundai IONIQ 9 has been recognised as the Favourite Plug-in EV by the Midwest Automotive Media Association (MAMA) at their Spring Rally in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. This accolade was given due to its impressive range, advanced interior features, and notable engagement during the event. Around 80 new vehicle models were evaluated, with those receiving 'Favourites' status being considered for MAMA's ‘Favourite Vehicle of 2025’ award.

The IONIQ 9 boasts a remarkable estimated range of 335 miles for the RWD S model. Its bold design and family-friendly versatility have earned it praise nationwide. Ricky Lao, director of product planning at Hyundai Motor North America, stated, "With its impressive 335-mile range estimate (IONIQ 9 RWD S) bold styling, and family-friendly versatility, the IONIQ 9 is earning accolades across the country."

Hyundai IONIQ 9 Wins MAMA's Favourite EV Award

Hyundai has consistently been a favourite among MAMA journalists, winning accolades for three consecutive years. Last year, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N was named MAMA’s Favourite Vehicle of the Year. This year, the IONIQ 9 tied with the Volvo EX90 for MAMA’s Favourite Plug-in Vehicle at their annual Spring Rally.

MAMA President Jim O’Brill commented on this achievement: "Hyundai continues to be a favorite among MAMA journalists as it has consecutively won MAMA’s Favorites accolades for the past three years." The IONIQ 9 is praised for its innovative design and technology.

The Midwest Automotive Media Association (MAMA), established in 1991, includes around 300 automotive journalists and industry professionals from approximately 25 states and Washington D.C. Although based in Chicago, it welcomes members nationwide. MAMA provides a platform for discussing newsworthy topics and new products in the auto industry.
