Hyundai IONIQ 9 Wins Best Seven-Seat EV Award At The 2025 TopGear.com Electric Awards

The Hyundai IONIQ 9, a much-anticipated electric SUV, has quickly gained recognition in the UK by winning the Best Seven-Seat EV award at the 2025 TopGear.com Electric Awards. This annual event highlights top choices in the evolving electric vehicle sector. The IONIQ 9 was praised for its practicality, stylish design, and advanced technology, reinforcing Hyundai's leadership in electrification.

Since its debut in Los Angeles last December, the IONIQ 9 has received acclaim for its elegant design and high-quality interior. The cabin offers a spacious and airy feel with innovative seating features that enhance comfort and flexibility. It also provides ample storage space, with up to 1,323 litres available when the rear seats are folded down.

IONIQ 9 Wins Best Seven-Seat EV Award

Jack Rix, Editor-in-chief of Top Gear, remarked on the IONIQ 9's clever design: "Hyundai’s IONIQ 9 is both accomplished and clever. Its people carrying, quasi-minibus remit means its design is less ‘out there’ than the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6, but the result is still cool. More importantly, it’s another Hyundai with design flair that is backed up by some genuinely useful thinking."

The UK version of the IONIQ 9 will feature a long-range 110.3 kWh battery with three motor configurations available. It can travel up to 620 km on a single charge (WLTP estimate). Charging is efficient with an 800V capability and Vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology that simplifies EV usage.

The driving experience in the IONIQ 9 is smooth and luxurious due to its specially designed suspension system for electric SUVs. This includes a MacPherson multi-link front setup and self-levelling dampers at the rear. The UK model lineup and pricing details will be announced later this year.

Ashley Andrew, President of Hyundai & Genesis UK, expressed excitement about the IONIQ 9's arrival: "The excitement that is building towards the arrival of the Hyundai IONIQ 9 in the UK is tangible, and Top Gear’s award of Best Seven-Seat EV bolsters our confidence that this is a car which will hold very strong appeal for customers."
