Hyundai IONIQ 6 Secures Best EV Executive Car Title At Great British Fleet Awards For Second Year
The Hyundai IONIQ 6 has once again been recognised as the Best EV Executive Car at the Great British Fleet Awards. This marks the second consecutive year it has received this honour. The awards, organised by Fleet World, highlight top fleet-focused vehicles and industry advancements. Judges praised the IONIQ 6 for its innovative design, rapid charging capabilities, and advanced interior features.
The IONIQ 6's success at these awards is not new. It was previously named Best EV Compact Executive Car in 2023. Since its launch, the model has also been awarded titles such as 2023 World Car of the Year and Best Family Car at the 2024 UK Car of the Year Awards. These accolades underscore its appeal among both fleet buyers and individual users.

The car combines sharp design with high quality and performance, supported by a five-year unlimited mileage warranty and an extensive retail network.
The IONIQ 6 offers two powertrain choices: a rear-wheel-drive version with 228PS and an all-wheel-drive option providing 325PS. Both variants feature a long-range 77.4 kWh battery capable of covering up to 338 miles on a single charge. The E-GMP platform includes an 800v charging system that allows for ultra-fast charging at 350kW.
John Challen, Editor of Fleet World, commented on Hyundai's bold approach with the IONIQ 6: "Daring to be different, Hyundai was prepared to take a chance with the IONIQ 6, and drivers gave a positive response." He highlighted its ultra-fast charging and high-tech interior as standout features alongside its striking appearance.
Hyundai's European Presence
Hyundai Motor Europe HQ was established in Germany in 2000 and oversees sales across 47 European countries through over 2,200 outlets. In early 2023, zero-emission vehicles accounted for approximately 16% of Hyundai's European sales. This includes models like the award-winning IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6.
In the UK market since 1982, Hyundai has one of the youngest product ranges among manufacturers as of February 2024. Their lineup includes fully electric models like the IONIQ series and KONA Electric range. Additionally, they offer hybrid options such as Tucson and Santa Fe models.
Hyundai UK's Market Performance
In September 2024, Hyundai Motor UK achieved its highest-ever market share of 5.4%, driven by strong SUV sales and alternative fuel vehicles. During this period, their sales grew by over eight percent compared to the previous year, reaching more than 87,000 units sold.
The company's commitment to zero-emission mobility is evident through offerings like the INSTER EV launched in 2024 and second-generation NEXO fuel cell vehicle. All new passenger cars come with a unique Five Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty package for added customer assurance.
