The Hyundai IONIQ 5 N has been recognised as the Official Winter EV of New England and Best In-Class Performance Car by the New England Motor Press Association (NEMPA). Additionally, the Hyundai Tucson received the Best In-Class SUV award. NEMPA evaluates over 100 vehicles each winter, focusing on features and performance that ensure safe and enjoyable driving in all weather conditions.

Hyundai's commitment to quality is evident in their rigorous testing of vehicles under extreme weather conditions. Ricky Lao, director of product planning at Hyundai Motor North America, stated, "Having two vehicles, with differing propulsion systems, awarded in the New England Winter testing evaluations, is a true testament to our commitment in providing reliable modes of transportation for both ICE and EV systems."

Cliff Atiyeh, president of NEMPA, expressed surprise at the IONIQ 5 N's performance. He said, "Hyundai has been on a hot streak, so we expected the IONIQ 5 N to be good. That it would knock out the supercars and high-performance luxury SUVs that NEMPA regularly tests, and then glide into town in total silence and comfort? We were stunned. That's why the IONIQ 5 N is our Best Performance Car for 2025."

The Tucson also impressed with its design and functionality. Atiyeh noted its standout features: "In a sea of compact SUVs, the Tucson's bright grille lights and sharp-toothed taillights cut through the traffic. From behind the updated steering wheel, the roomy interior brings updated infotainment, retains enough physical controls, and offers a good driving experience especially on the rugged new XRT."

NEMPA is an association comprising automotive journalists and content creators across six states. Their evaluations influence millions globally each month. The awards they present highlight vehicles excelling in specific categories during their winter tests.

Hyundai Motor America provides a diverse range of vehicles to U.S. consumers. Their operations include significant facilities in California and Alabama, contributing substantially to the U.S. economy with $20.1 billion annually and supporting 190,000 jobs.

The recognition from NEMPA underscores Hyundai's dedication to innovation and quality across its vehicle lineup. Both the IONIQ 5 N and Tucson exemplify this commitment through their award-winning performances in challenging conditions.
