Hyundai Motor India Sells Over 1.1 Million Cars With Sunroofs
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has achieved a significant milestone by selling over 1.1 million cars with sunroofs in India within five years. This achievement highlights the changing preferences of Indian car buyers, who now view sunroofs as a symbol of luxury and aspiration.
In the fiscal year 2024-25, half of Hyundai's cars sold in India featured sunroofs. This trend persisted into the first half of 2025, with 54% of Hyundai's domestic sales from January to June including this feature.

Sunroof Feature Drives Sales
Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer at Hyundai Motor India Ltd., remarked on this success: "This milestone is a strong reflection of the modern Indian customer's aspiration for premium experiences in everyday mobility. At HMIL, we have consistently worked towards democratizing global technologies and high-end features for a broader set of customers. Going forward, we shall continue with our commitment to shape the future of mobility, by blending cutting-edge technology and innovation and future-ready product offerings."
Hyundai offers sunroofs in 12 out of its 14 models, leading the way in making this feature popular across various segments and price ranges. By localising panoramic sunroof production for its Indian market, Hyundai has made these premium features more affordable and accessible.

Meeting Evolving Customer Expectations
The company is committed to aligning its products with evolving customer expectations regarding value, comfort, and lifestyle preferences. This approach empowers more Indian buyers to enjoy global technologies and innovations while on the move.
As customer aspirations continue to drive demand for sunroofs in India, Hyundai remains focused on providing premium experiences through innovative product offerings that cater to diverse needs.
