Hyundai Hope On Wheels Launches To Support Pediatric Cancer Research At Canadian International Auto Show
Hyundai Hope On Wheels, a non-profit organisation, is dedicated to advancing research and treatment for paediatric cancer. Hyundai Canada's dealership network will support this cause by donating a portion of each new vehicle sale. The Hyundai booth will showcase the Santa Fe, the flagship vehicle for Hyundai Hope On Wheels, alongside the new IONIQ 9 three-row EV and other models.
Each year, Hyundai Hope On Wheels will allocate research and support grants to Canadian institutions focused on improving outcomes for children with cancer. In 2025, over $4 million will be donated to paediatric cancer research. This initiative is supported by Hyundai Canada's 226 dealerships nationwide, contributing through every vehicle sold since January 1, 2025.

Steve Flamand, Executive Director of Sales and Digital Strategy at Hyundai Auto Canada, stated: "We are incredibly proud to launch Hyundai Hope On Wheels in Canada as part of our broader commitment to supporting the fight against pediatric cancer. Our network of dealers across the country is united in this effort, and we are excited to contribute to the critical research and support that will make a difference in the lives of children and their families."
The Canadian International Auto Show will feature several highlights at Hyundai's booth. These include the flagship vehicle for Hyundai Hope On Wheels, the all-new 2026 IONIQ 9, and the renowned one-million-kilometre Elantra. The complete range of Hyundai’s award-winning lineup will also be on display.
The IONIQ 9 represents Hyundai Motor's ongoing commitment to electrification. It is part of an ambitious plan to offer a full lineup of 23 EV models by 2030. Following the success of previous models like IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6, which won World Car of the Year Awards in 2022 and 2023 respectively, IONIQ 9 aims to continue this legacy.
Innovative Features of IONIQ 9
The IONIQ 9 boasts a wheelbase measuring 3,130 mm—the longest among Hyundai models—offering an expansive interior. Its design features bold body volumes and intricately designed accents that add depth. The flowing rear wheel arch character line enhances its dynamic appearance.
The advanced PE System includes a high-voltage NCM lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 110.3 kWh mounted on the floor. The IONIQ 9 offers multiple configurations: Long-Range RWD with a 160 kW rear motor; Long-Range AWD with an additional 70 kW front motor; Performance AWD featuring dual 160 kW motors.
Performance Enthusiasts' Delight
