Hyundai And Genesis Report Record Sales In Canada For 2024 With 138,755 Units Sold
Hyundai and Genesis achieved a combined sales record of 138,755 units in Canada for 2024, marking the highest annual sales in Hyundai Auto Canada's 41-year history. This achievement also set new records for both brands individually. The company maintained its position as the second-largest importer in Canada for the third consecutive year.
In 2024, Hyundai and Genesis sold 45,712 electrified vehicles in Canada, a significant increase from 34,409 units in 2023. Hyundai's electrified lineup saw a 35.1% rise in deliveries, with the IONIQ 5 leading at 13,484 units. The TUCSON HEV followed with 11,815 units, and the KONA Electric sold 9,179 units.

Hyundai Canada reported total annual sales of 131,715 units in 2024, reflecting a growth of 13.9% compared to the previous year. This marked their best sales year ever. Genesis also reached a new annual sales record with 7,040 units sold by its Canadian distributors, representing a 6.4% increase over CY2023.
The top-selling models for Hyundai Canada included the KONA (30,020 units), TUCSON (29,837 units), and ELANTRA (20,427 units). The IONIQ 5 and SANTA FE followed closely with sales of 13,484 and 11,334 units respectively. The PALISADE experienced a notable increase of 10.3%, reaching sales of 7,910 units.
Genesis' luxury SUV GV70 has been its best-seller since its launch in late 2021. In 2024, it recorded sales of 4,048 units—a growth of 30.1% from the previous year. The GV80 also saw an increase with deliveries up by 6.4%, totaling at 1,187 units.
December Sales Performance
Hyundai Canada's December sales reached a total of 10,110 units—an increase of 13.5% from December last year. The TUCSON led December sales with 2,331 units sold followed by ELANTRA at 1,883 and IONIQ 5 at 1,804 units.
The IONIQ 5 continued to perform strongly throughout December as part of Hyundai's electrified fleet which accounted for over forty percent of total monthly sales volume—an impressive sixty percent increase compared to last December.
Genesis' Record-Breaking Year-End
Genesis concluded its best December on record with a gain of twelve point four percent driven by increases in GV70 and GV80 sales—fourteen point six percent and eighty point four percent respectively.

Looking Ahead to New Models
"As we look forward into twenty twenty-five," stated Don Romano from Hyundai Auto Canada "we are excited about introducing new models like IONIQ nine while continuing offering Canadians diverse options including our award-winning SUVs."
The redesigned GV70 will debut alongside ten new Genesis Retail Experience facilities across Canada bringing their total number nationwide up-to-twenty-seven stores enhancing customer experience further according to Marshall.
