Hyundai Launches Exter S Smart And SX Smart Variants - Prices Start At Rs 7.68 Lakh
South Korean carmaker Hyundai has introduced two new variants of its entry-level SUV, the Exter, aiming to cater to the needs of Gen Z buyers and other potential customers seeking smart mobility solutions. The new additions, dubbed Exter S Smart and SX Smart, are designed to incorporate features in high demand among Indian consumers, such as sunroofs, at more affordable price points.
The highlight of the newly launched Exter S Smart and SX Smart variants is the inclusion of an electronically operated sunroof. This feature has become increasingly popular in India, and Hyundai's strategy is to offer it at competitive prices. The Exter S Smart variant starts at Rs 7.68 lakh (Ex-showroom), with the SX Smart variant starting at Rs 8.16 lakh (Ex-showroom).

Both the S Smart and SX Smart trims are available with manual transmission (MT) and automated manual transmission (AMT) options, equipped with petrol engines. Additionally, these trims offer the Hy-CNG Duo versions, indicating Hyundai's commitment to providing a diverse range of fuel options. The inclusion of CNG technology underlines the brand's dedication to sustainable and economical driving alternatives.

Besides the much-talked-about sunroof, the Exter S Smart and SX Smart variants come equipped with an array of features aimed at enhancing the driving experience. The S Smart trim includes LED tail lights, a Highline Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), 15-inch styled steel wheels, rear AC vents, and LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). The SX Smart trim further enhances the value proposition with additional amenities such as a Smart key with push-button start, a shark fin antenna, and projector headlights, providing a comprehensive package of convenience and style.
Under the hood, the Hyundai Exter remains powered by the tried-and-tested 1.2L Kappa NA Petrol 4-cylinder engine. This engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT, maintaining the SUV's performance credentials. The introduction of dual-cylinder CNG technology in the new trims marks a significant step towards offering environmentally friendly and cost-effective driving options.
