Hyundai has introduced a budget-friendly version of its Exter Hy-CNG Duo. This new variant is the most affordable in the lineup and features dual-cylinder CNG technology. This move aims to make Hyundai's eco-friendly vehicles accessible to a wider range of customers.
Pricing
Initially launched, Hyundai Exter EX Hy-CNG Duo is priced at Rs 7.51 lakh (ex-showroom). The original lineup began with the mid-spec S trim, priced at Rs 8.5 lakh (Ex-showroom), making the newly launched entry-level EX trim nearly Rs 1 lakh cheaper than its predecessor.
Features
The Exter EX Hy-CNG Duo is equipped with numerous features for enhanced comfort and safety. It includes six airbags as standard, along with three-point seatbelts and seatbelt reminders. Other notable features are a 4.2-inch TFT MID screen in the instrument cluster, H-shaped LED tail lights, driver's seat height adjustment, and keyless entry.
Powertrain
Under the hood, this model houses a 1.2L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated Bi-fuel capable petrol engine. When running on CNG, it produces 68 bhp of peak power and 95.2 Nm of peak torque. The vehicle comes with a single transmission option: a 5-speed manual gearbox. Hyundai claims it offers up to 27.1 km/kg in fuel efficiency.
Market Competition
Prior to this update, the Exter Hy-CNG Duo was available only in S trim, SX trim, and SX Knight trim. By introducing the EX trim variant, Hyundai has made its dual-cylinder technology more accessible to buyers. This model directly competes with Tata Motors' Punch i-CNG in the sub B-Segment SUV category.
