Top 25 Most Popular Cars In India (June 2025) - Creta Regains Top Spot
In June 2025, the Hyundai Creta/EV reclaimed its position as India's top-selling car/SUV, with 15,786 units sold. This marked a return to the top spot after being surpassed by the Maruti Dzire/Brezza in May 2025. Despite a 3.11% drop from June 2024's sales of 16,293 units, it commanded a significant share of the market.
Maruti Suzuki dominated the list following Hyundai Creta/EV. The Dzire saw a notable increase of 15.37%, selling 15,484 units compared to last year's 13,421 units. This growth resulted in an additional volume of 2,063 units and an 11.84% market share. The Brezza followed closely with sales of 14,507 units, marking a year-on-year growth of 10.14%.

The Ertiga and Swift occupied the fourth and fifth positions but experienced declines in sales. Ertiga's sales dropped by 11.01% to 14,151 units, while Swift saw a decrease of 19.16%, selling only 13,275 units. The WagonR also faced a decline of 6.24%, with sales falling to 12,930 units from last year's figure.

SUV sales in June 2025 fell by 7.10% year-on-year to reach a total of 1,38,882 units compared to June 2024's figure of 1,49,501 units. Hyundai Creta/EV led this segment as well with its impressive sales numbers for the month. The Mahindra Scorpio/N showed resilience with a growth of 3.52%, reaching sales of 12,740 units compared to last year's figures. The Tata Nexon and Punch were further down the list at eighth and ninth positions respectively; both witnessed declines in their sales figures.
The Mahindra Thar/Roxx experienced remarkable demand with an increase of 77.49%, selling 9,542 units compared to just over five thousand last year. Bolero also saw a slight rise in demand by about one and half percent. However, Mahindra XUV3XO faced challenges as its sales plummeted by sixteen percent compared to last year’s numbers. However, the new REVX variants might help boost future performance.
Toyota Hyryder captured buyers' attention as its sales surged by over seventy-four percent to reach more than seven thousand four hundred units last month from just over four thousand previously.
The Hyundai Venue encountered difficulties with a sharp decline in year-on-year sales by over thirty percent resulting in less than seven thousand unit sales for June. Similarly affected were Maruti Grand Vitara and Kia Sonet which saw drops of nearly 30 percent each; their respective unit sales stood at around 6,800 and 6,658 units respectively.
Despite these challenges faced by some models within this competitive market landscape during June twenty-twenty-five period overall trends indicate continued interest among Indian consumers towards diverse offerings available across various segments including both cars SUVs alike ensuring dynamic automotive industry remains vibrant moving forward into future months ahead!
