Hyundai Sold 550 Cretas Everyday In 2025 - Breaks Yet Another Record
Hyundai Motor India Limited has announced that its mid-size SUV, the Creta, has crossed 2 lakh units in annual sales during calendar year 2025, marking the highest single-year volume recorded by the model since its introduction in the Indian market.
The South Korean automotive giant stated that the sales milestone translates to an average of 550 units sold per day across the year, reflecting the steady retail demand for the Creta in the mid-size SUV segment throughout 2025.
Hyundai said the Creta has remained the highest-selling SUV in India on a cumulative basis between 2020 and 2025, with the model also registering a compound annual growth rate of over 9 per cent since its launch.
Commenting on the milestone, Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO designate, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said, "Hyundai CRETA journey in India is nothing short of extraordinary and achieving highest-ever annual sales of more than 2 lakhs units is a proud and defining moment for all of us at Hyundai. It is also the highest selling SUV of our country on a cumulative basis from 2020-2025. Infact, over the past 10 years of its journey in India, CRETA's customer base has grown manifold, transforming it from a capable SUV into a trusted companion for every journey.
The brand's momentum also reflects in the rise of first-time buyers - from 13% in 2020 to an impressive 32% in 2025. Aspirations of CRETA customers have also evolved over the years, with sunroof-equipped variants contributing more than 70% of CRETA's sales in 2025. In addition, the diesel powertrain contributes a strong 44% share to CRETA sales. The Creta range in India is offered with multiple engine options, including a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel, along with an electric variant and the more performance-oriented Creta N Line.
The Hyundai Creta continues to be manufactured locally in India and is sold across Hyundai's nationwide dealer network, contributing to the brand's overall passenger vehicle volumes during the 2025 calendar year. The Creta is also exported to over 80 countries across the world, including Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.
