Hyundai Creta Electric Long Range Becomes Favourite: Dominates With 77% Of Total Bookings
The Hyundai Creta Electric Long Range (LR) model, boasting a 473-kilometre range, has dominated bookings since its January launch. It accounts for 77% of total reservations. Meanwhile, the Standard Range (SR) variant, offering a 390-kilometre range, makes up the remaining 23%. Hyundai has sold 2,696 units of this all-electric SUV so far.
Charging times vary between models. The Creta EV LR requires 4.8 hours with an 11kW AC charger. In contrast, the SR variant takes only 4 hours to charge using the same method. Both battery packs can be charged in just 58 minutes using a 50kW DC fast charger.

Hyundai Creta Electric Pricing and Variants
The Creta Electric LR models are priced between Rs 21.50 lakh and Rs 24.38 lakh. Bookings for these variants are divided based on whether they include an optional home charger, which costs Rs 73,000 extra. The Excellence LR variant with the charger is most popular, securing 54% of bookings.
In comparison, the Creta Electric SR models range from Rs 18 lakh to Rs 20.88 lakh. The Premium and Smart (O) variants with a home charger account for a smaller share of bookings at 6% and 3%, respectively. This could be due to the additional cost of the charger.
Colour Preferences Among Buyers
Atlas White is the top choice among buyers, representing 29% of bookings for the Hyundai Creta BEV. Abyss Black follows with a preference rate of 17%. The dual-tone Ocean Blue and Abyss Black combination is also popular at 15%. Other colours include Ocean Blue monotone (11%) and matte finish (9%).
Less common colour options include Starry Night and Titan Grey Matte, each accounting for just 3% of bookings. Robust Emerald Matte captures another small segment at 2%, while Fiery Red is chosen by only 1% of buyers.
Booking Trends and Market Competition
The Excellence LR trim without a home charger saw fewer bookings at just 16%, while the Smart (O) LR variant without it received only 3%. Dealer sources indicate that most buyers prefer having the electric SUV equipped with a home charger.
The Hyundai Creta EV faces competition from Tata's Curvv EV Medium Range, priced between Rs 17.49 lakh and Rs 19.29 lakh. This rival features a larger battery pack at 45kWh, potentially influencing buyer decisions.
The Premium SR variant without a home charger secured another set of registrations at around 6%, while the Smart (O) variant got about half that number at just over 3%. Executive and Smart trims each received about two percent registrations.
The Hyundai Creta Electric offers diverse options catering to different preferences in terms of range, price, and features like home chargers or paint finishes. Its popularity reflects growing interest in electric vehicles in India.
