Hyundai Extends Partnership With UC Irvine's Future Leaders Initiative To Support Student Development
Hyundai Motor America has reaffirmed its collaboration with the UC Irvine Paul Merage School of Business through the Future Leaders Initiative (FLI). This program aims to nurture future leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs in Southern California by investing in current students. On July 25, 2025, students attended the FLI at UC Irvine's Paul Merage School of Business in Irvine, California.
"Hyundai’s partnership with UCI’s Future Leaders Initiative is a testament to our dedication to education and sustainable innovation," stated Brandon Ramirez, director of corporate social responsibility at Hyundai Motor North America. "By investing in the next generation of leaders and innovators, we are paving the way for a more sustainable future."
The Future Leaders Initiative is designed to provide underserved students in Southern California with essential business education, financial literacy, and career preparation. Through in-person courses led by UC Irvine's expert faculty, FLI enhances college readiness and supports careers in business, technology, and entrepreneurship.
Students from over 60 high schools and community colleges across Orange County participated in the program. They heard from a Hyundai employee about their journey in the automotive industry, Hyundai's electrification goals and investments, and its vision for a sustainable future.
Participants also experienced an advanced demonstration of the first-ever 2026 IONIQ 9 3-row electric SUV. This provided them with a firsthand look at innovative technology and design. The event highlighted Hyundai's commitment to fostering practical insights alongside personal development skills necessary for leadership in the modern world.
"The Future Leaders Initiative exemplifies our belief that education should transcend the classroom," said Miranda Young, program director at the Merage School. "We are intentional about equipping these students with both the practical insights and the personal development skills necessary to lead in the 21st century."
