Hyundai Canada Reports Nine Consecutive Months Of Sales Growth; Genesis Achieves Record Sales In June
Hyundai Auto Canada has reported a remarkable nine-month streak of record sales, with an 18.3% year-over-year increase for its Hyundai and Genesis brands combined. In June 2025, the company sold 15,602 units compared to 13,194 in June 2024. Steve Flamand, president and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada, expressed confidence in the brand's growing trust among Canadian consumers.
Genesis Canada achieved its highest sales month ever in June, selling 790 units. Flamand noted that Genesis is thriving in the competitive luxury market, driven by the GV70 and GV80 SUVs. He highlighted that Genesis Canada's growth is due to their award-winning vehicles and personalized service, with June sales rising by an impressive 41%.
The Hyundai brand saw significant growth across several models. The Elantra experienced a substantial increase of 75.1%, selling 3,222 units compared to 1,840 in June 2024. The Venue also showed remarkable growth with a 110.6% rise in sales. However, some models like the IONIQ 6 and Tucson saw declines of 40.9% and 4.3%, respectively.
Hyundai's total sales for June reached 14,812 units, marking a year-over-year increase of 17.2%. The Kona model contributed significantly with a sales rise of 14.1%. Despite some declines in specific models like the Palisade and IONIQ 5, overall performance remained strong.
Genesis Motors Canada operates from Markham, Ontario, distributing vehicles through a network of 31 agency distributors nationwide. The brand offers a range of models including sedans like the G70 and G80 as well as SUVs such as the GV70 and GV80. Genesis is committed to electrifying its lineup by 2030.
The GV70 model led Genesis' success with a notable increase of 41.8% in sales compared to last year. The GV80 also performed well with a growth rate of over 105%. Meanwhile, other models like the G70 and GV60 experienced declines in their sales figures.
