Hyundai America Technical Center Contributes $39,500 To Revitalise Dixboro Historic School House In Michigan
Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) has pledged $39,500 to Superior Charter Township to aid in the restoration of the Dixboro Historic School House. This announcement was made during the Dixboro Market Day event on May 30, 2025. The funds will be used to enhance this cherished community landmark in Dixboro, Michigan.John Robb, President of HATCI, expressed pride in supporting the preservation of the school house. He stated, "We are honored to contribute to the preservation of the Dixboro Historic School House and to support a project that enhances the unique appeal and historic charm of this exceptional community." This donation underscores Hyundai's dedication to local community initiatives.The school house, originally a one-room educational facility, now serves as a venue for various community events. The investment will fund essential restorations like installing a bathroom and repairing historic windows. These upgrades aim to increase its functionality for hosting performances and cultural gatherings.Superior Charter Township spans approximately 35.56 square miles in Washtenaw County, Michigan. With a population of 14,832 as per the 2020 census, it offers rural charm with proximity to Ann Arbor. The township is known for its historic hamlets like Dixboro and natural areas such as the Superior Greenway.Emily Dabish Yahkind, Superior Township Supervisor, expressed gratitude for Hyundai's contribution.
