Hot Wheels Legends Tour 2025 Invites UK Car Enthusiasts To Compete For Die-Cast Model Induction

The Hot Wheels Legends Tour is back in the UK, offering car enthusiasts a chance to have their vehicle turned into a 1:64 scale model. This year, the event will culminate at the Slammed UK's Gravity Show on 23 August at the NEC in Birmingham. Judges include Hot Wheels designer Craig Callum, YouTuber Mat Armstrong, and presenter Nicola Hume.

Participants can submit modified, classic, road, or track vehicles for consideration. The competition is open to a wide range of vehicles including restomods, racing cars, custom classics, drag racers, off-roaders, and trucks. Entrants need to upload three images and a brief description online.

In its eighth global year and fifth in the UK, the tour has seen UK entrants consistently reach the global finals. The 2024 event saw a Bentley-inspired 1983 Mini 'Mentley' win nationally. In 2021, the 1969 Volvo P1800 Gasser became the first non-US vehicle to win globally.

The UK winner will travel to El Segundo, California for the US tour's final stop. The overall winner will join the Hot Wheels Garage of Legends and be made into a die-cast model sold worldwide. "What began as a series of U.S. events has grown into a global tour," says Ted Wu from Mattel.

The judges are looking for entries that showcase authenticity, creativity, and garage spirit. Authenticity means standing out with unique designs; creativity involves exciting projects with performance focus; garage spirit reflects dedication and hard work.

Partners like Smyths Toys Superstores and Forge Motorsport offer prizes including merchandise bundles and vouchers. Entries close on 4 July. More details are available on the official website.

Hot Wheels' Legacy

Hot Wheels remains a leading die-cast brand in the UK and globally since its founding in 1968. With over eight billion cars sold, it influences car culture significantly. Its original design team included both a car designer and a rocket scientist aiming to create superior toy cars.

The brand continues to inspire full-scale designers and tuners worldwide. Notably, collaborations with Formula One and Ferrari were announced for 2025.

Mattel owns Hot Wheels among other iconic brands like Barbie and Fisher-Price. Founded in 1945, Mattel engages consumers through toys, content, products, digital experiences, and more.
