Honda's New Milestone: 50,000 ADAS-Equipped Vehicles Sold In India!
Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has achieved a significant milestone with 50,000 Honda SENSING ADAS-equipped vehicles now on Indian roads. This accomplishment highlights Honda's dedication to safety and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), aligning with their global goal of zero traffic collision fatalities by 2050.
Honda SENSING technology employs a high-performance front wide-view camera paired with an advanced detection system. This setup identifies road lines, objects, and other vehicles. The system includes features such as Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN), and Auto High-Beam (AHB).

Expanding ADAS Technology Across Models
In May 2022, Honda introduced the SENSING ADAS in India with the City e:HEV, marking the country's first mainstream strong hybrid electric vehicle. Since then, this technology has been extended to several models: the Honda City in March 2023, the Honda Elevate in September 2023, and the Honda Amaze in December 2024, which is India's most affordable car equipped with ADAS.
The demand for Honda's ADAS-equipped models is on the rise. Sales data reveals that 95% of Honda City buyers choose an ADAS variant. Similarly, 60% of Elevate buyers and 30% of Amaze buyers opt for models featuring this technology. Among these customers, one in every two cites advanced safety as their primary reason for purchase.
Consumer Preference for Safety Features
This trend underscores a growing consumer preference for active safety technologies, positioning Honda SENSING as a key market differentiator. By making ADAS accessible across various segments, Honda ensures enhanced safety for a broader audience. Notably, they were the first in India to offer ADAS in manual transmission variants starting with the Honda City in 2023.
Mr. Kunal Behl, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at HCIL stated, "At Honda Cars India, safety is at the core of everything we do. Achieving the milestone of 50,000 ADAS-enabled vehicles on Indian roads reflects our unwavering commitment to enhancing safety for all. This achievement not only aligns with our global safety vision but also demonstrates the growing preference and acceptance of Indian consumers to advanced driver assistance technologies."
Commitment to Safer Mobility
With ADAS now available across its lineup, Honda is advancing its mission of safer mobility by ensuring Indian roads become more secure through cutting-edge driver assistance technology. The brand continuously works on improving both active and passive safety features to provide a secure driving experience for everyone.
This achievement not only highlights consumer acceptance but also showcases how integral advanced driver assistance systems have become in modern vehicles. As more drivers opt for these features, it reflects a shift towards prioritising safety on Indian roads.
