Honda And National Hockey League Renew Partnership With Emphasis On Sustainability Initiatives

Honda and the National Hockey League (NHL) have extended their partnership in the United States, a collaboration that began with the 2007-08 NHL season. This renewed agreement will focus on sustainability efforts. As the NHL's Official Automotive Partner, Honda will be present at major events like the NHL Winter Classic and the 4 Nations Face-Off, which starts tomorrow.

This season, fans will get a first look at Honda's latest vehicles, including the 2026 Passport TrailSport SUV, available at dealerships today. The lineup also features the all-electric Honda Prologue and CR-V Hybrid SUVs. Honda is introducing a video series titled "Skating to Sustainability" to highlight its commitment to environmental responsibility. This series will debut during the 4 Nations Face-Off and will be available on various digital platforms.

Honda Renews Partnership with NHL for Sustainability

Honda aims for zero environmental impact by 2050, striving for carbon neutrality in products and operations. By 2040, Honda plans for battery-electric and fuel cell vehicles to make up all new sales. Recently, Honda celebrated 25 years of hybrid-electric vehicle sales in America.

Throughout this NHL season, Honda will maintain a strong presence through advertising on Digitally Enhanced Dasherboards during nationally broadcast games on ESPN and TNT in the U.S. Additionally, virtual slot in-ice ads featuring the Honda brand will be visible during regular-season games and Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The partnership includes media campaigns across NHL's digital and social platforms to engage fans further. Phil Hruska from Honda expressed excitement about continuing this relationship with the NHL, aiming to create memorable experiences for hockey fans.

Future Plans and Innovations

At the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Honda unveiled two models from its new Honda 0 Series line of battery electric vehicles: the Honda 0 SUV and Saloon prototypes. Production of these models is set to begin in Ohio in 2026.

Kyle McMann from NHL praised Honda as one of their longest-standing partners in the U.S., highlighting their support for hockey. He mentioned upcoming events like the Honda NHL All-Star Game on Long Island next season as opportunities to engage fans through various activations.
