Ten Honda Models Recognised With 2025 Editors' Choice Awards By Car And Driver Magazine
Car and Driver editors have awarded 10 Honda models with the 2025 "Editors' Choice" awards. These accolades highlight each vehicle as the top choice in its category, strongly recommending them to consumers. Honda's internal combustion engine (ICE) and hybrid-electric models were acknowledged across various segments.
The 2025 Honda Accord, including its hybrid version, was named the best family sedan. The 2025 Honda Civic, along with its hybrid variant, was recognised as the leading compact car. In the sport compact car category, both the 2025 Honda Civic Si and Civic Type R received accolades. The 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid stood out in the compact SUV segment.
In addition to these recognitions, Honda has secured three prestigious Car and Driver 10Best awards for 2025. This marks the third consecutive year that Honda has achieved this feat, surpassing all other brands. The 2025 Accord and Accord hybrid, along with the entire Civic lineup—including Sedan, Hatchback, Si, Type R, and Civic hybrid—were honoured with two Car and Driver's 10Best Car awards.
The mid-size SUV category saw honours for both the 2025 Honda Passport and Pilot models. Meanwhile, the mid-size pickup truck segment recognised the 2025 Honda Ridgeline. Additionally, the minivan category spotlighted the 2025 Honda Odyssey.
The CR-V series also shone brightly in this year's awards. Both the standard CR-V and its hybrid counterpart were celebrated with a Car and Driver 10Best SUV award. This recognition further cements their status as top choices among SUVs.
Historical Achievements
Honda has a remarkable history of success with Car and Driver's awards. With a total of 95 accolades, it stands as the most decorated brand in Car and Driver's 10Best history. Notably, the Honda Accord is distinguished as the most awarded vehicle in this history by a significant margin.
The Accord has been featured on this esteemed list an impressive 39 times. This includes an unbroken streak over the past 27 years, underscoring its consistent excellence in design and performance.
Honda's Commitment to Quality
Honda offers a diverse range of vehicles known for being clean, safe, fun, and connected. These are sold through over a thousand independent U.S. dealers. The award-winning lineup includes popular models like the Civic and Accord alongside SUVs such as HR-V, CR-V, Passport, Prologue, and Pilot.
The company’s electrified vehicle lineup accounted for more than a quarter of sales in 2024. This includes all-electric options like the Prologue SUV and hybrids such as Accord, CR-V, Civic, plus Fuel-Cell-electric CR-V e:FCEV. A hybrid Prelude is expected to join by late 2025.
