Honda Marine Participates In 2025 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference To Support Technical Education
Honda Marine, a division of Honda Power Sports & Products, participated in the 2025 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference (NLSC). This event is a significant gathering for America's future skilled workforce. SkillsUSA is a leading organisation that helps students become skilled professionals and responsible community members. For the first time, Honda Marine joined this annual event held from June 23-27 at the Georgia World Congress Center.
The NLSC celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2025, attracting over 17,500 attendees. Participants included students, instructors, industry partners, government officials, and administrators. A highlight of the conference was the SkillsUSA Championships. Here, more than 6,500 state champions competed for medals in various skilled and leadership competitions across 114 industries, including Marine Service Technology.

Honda Marine's involvement aligns with its mission to enhance recreational boating experiences. The division focuses on supporting personal growth for technicians who maintain watercraft. By participating in the NLSC, Honda Marine aims to inspire future industry leaders and promote technical education. Their presence at the event underscores their dedication to advancing career readiness and leadership development.
Honda Marine markets a wide range of marine outboard motors powered solely by four-stroke engines. Since 1964, they have been pioneers in four-stroke technology, setting standards for fuel efficiency and low emissions. Today, they continue to promote recreational boating while supporting technicians who keep boats operational.
The Honda Marine team played a crucial role in the Marine Service Technology competition on June 25-26. Led by Steve Maciosek, national service manager, the team included Derek Martin, Rob Johnson, Lucy Berg, Brian Rogers, and Bob Dinan. They conducted exams and supervised labs based on National Technical Standards while providing prizes for competition winners.
"This year, the Honda Marine division is honored and proud to have joined our American Honda Motor Company colleagues in supporting the outstanding students who are the next generation of industry leaders," said Daniel Sherlock, director of Honda Marine Division. "What's more, our participation at NLSC and support of SkillsUSA dovetails perfectly with Honda Marine mission to inspire boaters to answer the call of adventure and feel the thrill of the open water."
