Honda Leaders Honoured As Part Of Automotive News’ 100 Leading Women In North American Auto Industry
Four prominent leaders from Honda have been recognised by Automotive News in its 2025 list of the 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry. This accolade highlights their significant contributions to the automotive sector. The selection process involved nominations and evaluations from across North America, resulting in hundreds of entries.
Roxanna Metz, who leads operations at the Indiana Auto Plant (IAP) of Honda Development & Manufacturing of America, LLC (HDMA), is among those honoured. Her role involves overseeing daily manufacturing activities at one of America's most adaptable facilities in Greensburg, Indiana. Here, 2,600 associates produce models like the Honda CR-V and Civic Hatchback, including hybrid versions and a new CR-V TrailSport variant.
Jane Nakagawa serves as vice president of the R&D Business Unit at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (AHM) in Torrance, California. She manages various divisions responsible for designing and developing Honda and Acura products. Her work also includes business innovation focused on new products and services, such as the all-electric Honda Motocompacto e-scooter.
Bobbi Curran holds the position of vice president of Procurement and Manufacturing Planning Control at Honda of Canada Mfg. (HCM). Based in Alliston, Ontario, Canada, she directs the company's manufacturing strategy for top-selling models like the Honda Civic Sedan and hybrid versions of the CR-V.
Susan Kenny is another honouree from HCM in Alliston, Ontario. As division manager of Purchasing, she oversees procurement activities related to supplier quality and new model development for the Honda Civic and CR-V models. Kenny's career with Honda began in 1993, marking her second recognition on this prestigious list.
The 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry Award celebrates female leaders making impactful contributions to the automotive industry. Since 2000, Automotive News has published this list every five years to highlight top female executives.
Honda's North American Presence
Honda's journey in North America began in 1959. Today, it employs around 42,000 people engaged in various sectors like development, manufacturing, sales, and service support for both Honda and Acura vehicles. The company operates 18 major manufacturing plants across North America.
In addition to its manufacturing prowess, Honda collaborates with over 750 suppliers to produce a wide range of quality products locally. By 2024, nearly all Honda and Acura vehicles sold in the U.S. and Canada were produced within North America.
Research and Development Initiatives
The company conducts extensive research and development at 23 facilities across North America. These centres are pivotal for designing and engineering many products made locally by Honda. High-performance racing programs for both Honda and Acura are also conducted here.
This recognition underscores Honda's commitment to fostering leadership within its ranks while maintaining a strong presence in North America's automotive landscape.
