Honda Elevate & Amaze CNG Introduced In India, But With A Catch

Honda has expanded its vehicle offerings in India by introducing CNG versions of the Elevate and Amaze, with the installation of government-approved CNG kits executed at the dealership level. This move enables customers seeking eco-friendly alternatives to petrol engines. However, those interested in acquiring these CNG variants must visit authorized dealerships, as online booking options are not available for these models.

The incorporation of CNG kits into the Amaze and Elevate models does not alter their appearance, as Honda has decided against making any cosmetic modifications. The most notable change is the placement of the CNG tank in the boot, which results in reduced boot space. Additionally, the interior sees the inclusion of a fuel switch button, allowing drivers to easily alternate between CNG and petrol.

Financial Incentives and Discounts

Honda is enticing customers with attractive offers and discounts across its range. Specifically, the City model benefits from discounts up to ₹63,300, and the City Hybrid is available with total benefits of ₹65,000. For the Elevate, customers can avail of discounts up to ₹56,100 on most variants, with the Elevate ZX variant receiving the highest benefits of ₹76,100. The Elevate Apex Edition also comes with benefits of ₹56,100 plus additional accessories worth ₹35,000.

The second-generation Amaze is offered with a ₹57,200 discount on the S variant, while the Amaze S CNG variant enjoys an even higher discount of ₹77,200 for this month. However, these discounts are not extended to the third-generation Amaze. Honda also offers attractive EMI options starting at ₹1,111 per lakh for the subcompact sedan. However, customers are advised that these promotional offers are subject to stock availability and may vary between dealerships.

Sales Performance and Export Surge

Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) reported a modest growth in sales, with a total of 126,151 units sold in the financial year 2024-25, marking a 1.59 per cent increase from the previous year. Domestic sales contributed 65,925 units to this total, while exports saw a significant jump to 60,226 units, the highest ever for the company and a 60 per cent increase from the previous year.

In March 2025 alone, HCIL managed to sell 7,228 units domestically and exported 4,656 units. When compared to March 2024, these figures represent a 14.7 percent decline in total sales, highlighting the fluctuating nature of the automotive market.

DriveSpark Thinks

This initiative by Honda to offer CNG options for the Amaze and Elevate models aligns with a growing demand for more sustainable and cost-effective fuel alternatives. Despite the slight compromise in boot space, the seamless integration of CNG kits and the attractive financial incentives make these models appealing choices for environmentally conscious consumers.
