Honda's Scott Dixon Achieves Perfect Season With Victory At Mid-Ohio IndyCar Race
Scott Dixon secured his first victory of the 2025 season, marking his 21st consecutive year with a win in the IndyCar series. He triumphed at the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio, presented by the All-New 2026 Passport. This race saw Alex Palou finishing second, making it a Honda 1-2 finish. Honda has dominated this season, winning all ten NTT INDYCAR races so far.
Honda's success continued as Scott Dixon emerged victorious at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, achieving his seventh win at this venue. Known for his fuel-saving skills, Dixon completed all 90 laps with just two pit stops. His previous wins here were in 2019, 2014, 2012, 2011, 2009, and 2007. This victory made him the third different winner in the current NTT INDYCAR SERIES season.
Alex Palou led most of the race but went wide towards the end, allowing Dixon to pass. Despite this setback, Palou remains strong in the championship standings with six wins this season and a significant lead over Kyle Kirkwood. The race was crucial for Honda as it took place near their Ohio facilities where many of their vehicles are manufactured.
Colton Herta finished fourth for Andretti Global, while Felix Rosenqvist and Marcus Armstrong from Meyer Shank Racing secured sixth and seventh places respectively. Kyle Kirkwood ended up eighth in his specially liveried Honda car during an important weekend for Honda's hybrid power units.
Rinus VeeKay achieved a top-10 finish for Dale Coyne Racing by moving up 17 positions to ninth place. Kyffin Simpson rounded out the top ten for Chip Ganassi Racing. This performance gave Honda eight out of the top ten finishes in this race. The manufacturer currently leads Chevrolet by 214 points in the manufacturers' championship.
The Mid-Ohio event marked one year since hybrid power units were introduced to the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. Thousands of Honda associates attended to support their teams and witness another milestone as Honda continues its perfect run this season.
