Honda Gold Wing Marks Its 50th Anniversary With Special Editions And Features For 2025
Honda has announced the return of its iconic Gold Wing motorcycle for 2025, celebrating its 50th anniversary with special styling features. The Gold Wing, which first appeared in 1975 and is credited with starting the touring motorcycle trend, will include aesthetic updates and new technology. Buyers will receive a commemorative coffee-table book and a tabletop model as part of their purchase.
The 2025 Gold Wing models come with two exclusive gifts: a detailed coffee-table book chronicling the bike's history and a 1:12 scale model showcasing both the original 1975 design and the latest version. These additions aim to honour the model's rich legacy. Honda plans to celebrate this milestone further at Daytona Bike Week, with more details forthcoming.
Colin Miller, Manager of Public Relations at American Honda, stated, "Honda has introduced many important powersports models over the years, but the Gold Wing is and always will be special, because of how it kickstarted the touring movement and inspired its own dedicated subculture." He emphasised that customer feedback has significantly influenced its development over the years.
The flagship Gold Wing Tour model marks its Golden Anniversary with three fresh colour options: Bourdeaux Red Metallic, Eternal Gold, and Light Silver Metallic. However, only the first two are considered official anniversary editions. The bike remains unique as the only motorcycle available with an airbag system, which is offered in Bourdeaux Red Metallic.
For 2025, wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ enhances rider convenience across most Gold Wing versions. The standard model now features Matte Black Metallic paintwork along with bold logos on saddlebags and side fairings. A special badge sits in front of the seat to commemorate this milestone.
Pricing and Availability
The pricing for these anniversary models varies. The standard Gold Wing starts at $25,200, while the dual-clutch transmission (DCT) version is priced at $26,200. For those interested in the Tour versions, prices range from $28,700 to $33,500 depending on features like DCT or airbag systems. All models will be available from March.
The "bagger"-style versions of the Gold Wing continue to be part of this celebration. These trunkless models follow in the footsteps of previous designs like Valkyrie and F6B. They offer either manual or advanced dual-clutch transmissions to suit different riding preferences.
