Honda Celebrates Front Row Lockout With Alex Palou And Felix Rosenqvist At Iowa Race 2
Alex Palou secured his fourth pole position of 2025 during the second race of the Iowa doubleheader. This achievement marked his first short oval pole at Iowa Speedway, adding another point to his lead in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES drivers' championship. Felix Rosenqvist will start second for Meyer Shank Racing, completing a Honda front row lockout for race 2.
Rosenqvist's second-place start is his best of the season so far. In race 1, Rosenqvist qualified third while Palou took fourth place. Scott Dixon, who won the previous race at Mid-Ohio, also performed well, qualifying sixth for race 1 and eighth for race 2 with his #9 Chip Ganassi Racing Honda.
Honda has been dominant this season, winning all ten races so far. Alex Palou has claimed six victories, Scott Dixon one, and Kyle Kirkwood from Andretti Global three. This consistent performance highlights Honda's strong presence in the series.
The qualifying results for Saturday's Synk 275 saw Felix Rosenqvist in third place and Alex Palou in fourth. Scott Dixon secured sixth position, while Marcus Armstrong and Louis Foster-R finished eleventh and twelfth respectively.
For Sunday's Farm to Finish 275, Alex Palou will start from pole position with Felix Rosenqvist beside him in second. Scott Dixon will begin from eighth place, while Graham Rahal and Marcus Armstrong are set to start tenth and twelfth respectively.

Driver Reactions
Alex Palou expressed excitement about his pole position: "Number one! For race 2 at least. It's a great result. I knew we had a fast car, but maybe not enough to be on pole. But, it feels awesome." He added that starting in the top four for both races is advantageous.
Felix Rosenqvist shared his thoughts on qualifying: "P3 and P2 for the two races here in Iowa. Kind of unexpected, to be honest." He noted that despite initial uncertainties during practice due to traffic, he was pleased with the outcome.
