Honda Civic Hybrid Recognised As Best New Car For Teens In 2025 By U.S. News & World Report
The 2025 Honda Civic hybrid has been recognised as one of the "Best Cars for Teens" by U.S. News & World Report in their 2025 rankings. This accolade highlights the Civic hybrid's excellence in the $30,000 to $35,000 category. It is the third time the Honda Civic has received this award, which emphasises safety features. The 11th-generation Civic is a leader in safety within the compact class.
To qualify as a Best New Car for Teens, vehicles must excel in predicted reliability, crash test scores, advanced driver-assistance features, and critical acclaim within their price range. The 2025 Honda Civic hybrid meets these criteria and offers additional benefits for young drivers. It includes a 9-inch touchscreen compatible with the Honda Driver Coaching app, enhancing driving skills and promoting safe practices.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awarded the 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback a TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating, while the Sedan variant earned a TOP SAFETY PICK rating. These ratings encompass the hybrid models, which are prominent in the 11th-generation lineup and account for nearly 35% of sales. The Civic's safety credentials are further bolstered by its advanced active and passive safety technologies.
Honda's "Safety for Everyone" philosophy underpins all 2025 Civic models, equipping them with the Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies. This includes enhanced visibility for motorcycles and bicycles in the Collision Mitigation Braking System with Pedestrian Detection. The 11th-generation Civic introduced an innovative driver's airbag designed to reduce head rotation during collisions, particularly oblique ones. This airbag uses a unique donut-shaped structure to cradle and hold the head, minimising rotation and reducing brain injury risk. Additionally, it features an award-winning front passenger airbag with a three-chamber design that mitigates severe head rotation or sliding off during angled frontal impacts.
