Honda City Hybrid Price Slashed To Boost Sales
The Honda City e:HEV stands out as the only strong hybrid sedan priced under Rs 20 lakh in India. Recently, Honda Cars India reduced its price by nearly Rs 1 lakh, making it more affordable. Now available at Rs 19.90 lakh for the fully-loaded ZX variant, this move aligns with the government's push for hybrid vehicles, potentially boosting sales.
Honda City e:HEV Powertrain
The City e:HEV is equipped with a 1.5-litre petrol engine operating on the Atkinson cycle. This engine is paired with a hybrid system that combines to deliver a total output of 126hp and 253Nm. The powertrain includes a traction motor powered by a lithium-ion battery and a motor-generator that recharges the battery using the combustion engine.

The hybrid system's combined output is transmitted to the front wheels via an eCVT. The car boasts an impressive ARAI-rated mileage of 27.26kpl, highlighting its fuel efficiency. This makes it an attractive option for those seeking economical driving without compromising on performance.

The exterior of the City hybrid features all LED headlights, DRLs, and stylish 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, along with a sunroof for added luxury. Inside, it offers an 8-inch touchscreen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charger, and an eight-speaker audio system for entertainment.

Safety is paramount in the City e:HEV, which has earned a five-star ASEAN NCAP rating.
