Honda Amaze Discontinued In India? Here's What Happened...
Honda Cars India has made the decision to cease the production of the VX variant of the second generation Honda Amaze, leaving only the S trim available for purchase. This move coincides with the introduction of the third generation Honda Amaze, which was unveiled in December 2024.
The newer model comes in three variants - V, VX, and ZX, offering a range of upgraded features including an advanced driver aids system, marking it as the most affordable car in India with such technology. The price range for the third gen Honda Amaze spans from Rs 8.19 lakh to Rs 11.20 lakh, ex-showroom.

The second generation Honda Amaze initially launched in 2018 and later received a facelift in 2021. It was originally available in three trims: E, S, and VX. However, by 2023, the E variant was discontinued, and recently, the VX variant has also been removed from the lineup, as confirmed by the company's official website. Currently, the S trim of the 2021 Honda Amaze is the only option from the second generation lineup being sold alongside the 2024 models.
The 2021 Honda Amaze S trim is powered by a 1.2-liter petrol engine that produces 89 bhp and 110 Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT, with prices set at Rs 7.63 lakh for the manual and Rs 8.53 lakh for the CVT option.
Inside, the S trim features a host of amenities such as an integrated 2DIN LCD screen audio system with Aux-in, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity, steering-mounted audio and hands-free telephone controls, a tilt-adjustable steering wheel, and a height-adjustable driver's seat for enhanced comfort. Additional conveniences include a rear center foldable armrest with cupholder, front and rear accessory sockets, and a dual-tone black and beige instrument panel, among others.
The launch of the third generation Honda Amaze introduces a host of advanced features to the compact sedan segment. Notably, it becomes the most competitively priced vehicle in India to include an Advanced Driver Aids System. Additionally, the new Amaze benefits from LED lighting, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, projector fog lamps, remote engine start, a semi-digital driver's display, connected car technology, a 6-speaker sound system, and a lane watch camera, all aimed at enhancing the driving experience.
DriveSpark Thinks

The third generation model's competitive pricing and advanced features are set to make it a compelling choice for customers in the compact sedan market.
