Honda 0 α Unveiled At Japan Mobility Show – India Launch In Early 2027
Honda has officially revealed the 0 α (Alpha) electric-SUV prototype at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show, with plans to launch the vehicle in India by early 2027. The 0 α marks the entry point of Honda's newly-named "0 Series" EV family.
Honda's 0 Series is built around a dedicated EV platform, and the 0 α is developed under the design philosophy the company calls "Thin, Light, and Wise". Honda claims that the 0 α is being developed as an SUV that will blend beautifully with both urban and natural environments, supporting people's lives in every situation. .

Visually, the Honda 0 α presents a low, wide stance and simplified surfaces. The front fascia integrates the head-lamps, connected day-running lights and an illuminated Honda emblem. At the rear, a U-shaped light signature adds visual distinction.
The cabin, Honda says, will reflect the minimalist "Thin" packaging concept. Expect a flat-floor layout, generous space and advanced connectivity and safety systems, though the company has not yet released full specification details.

Honda will be manufacturing the 0 α in India and exporting it to other markets from here. The new 0 α electric SUV will replace a previously planned Elevate EV project. The Honda 0 α is expected to feature a single motor front-wheel-drive layout when it is launched in India.
Globally, Honda says the 0 α will lead the 0 Series rollout. It will be followed by the 0 SUV, which is expected to arrive in India as a CBU import. Honda's flagship 0 electric sedan will remain exclusive to export markets.

At this stage, Honda has not published final battery capacity, motor output, charging standard or pricing for the production-version 0 α. However, we expect the Honda 0 α to sport a battery pack with a capacity of atleast 60kWh and a starting price tag of around ₹25 lakh when it arrives in India in 2027.
