High-Performance Cars From Iconic Brands Featured At H&H Classics' Millbrook Sale
On 25th June, a remarkable collection of high-performance cars will be auctioned by H&H Classics at the Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire. This event marks the first time H&H Classics is hosting an auction at this iconic venue. The lineup includes stunning models from Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Ferrari, and Porsche, showcasing both modern classics and youngtimers.
The auction will feature a diverse range of vehicles dating back to the early 1980s. Among them is a 1980 Ford Escort RS 2000 with a powerful Cosworth YB engine, estimated at £44,000-£48,000. According to the vendor, replicating this lightweight rally car today would cost over £80,000.
A 1986 Ferrari 328 GTS also stands out in the collection. Known for its appearances in US television shows and movies, this Targa-roofed model is valued between £60,000 and £65,000. It features a striking Blanco over Rosso colour scheme and has just over 42,000 miles on its odometer.
From the 1990s era comes a rare 1992 Porsche 944 S2 SE. Only 14 of these 'SE' specification models were built by Porsche UK, with just six known survivors today. This particular car underwent detailed restoration in 2017 by Rennsport specialists and is estimated to fetch between £28,000 and £34,000.
American muscle car enthusiasts will be drawn to a 1995 Dodge Viper R/T 10 Roadster. Built for the European market with a speedometer reading up to 320km/h, it has only covered 9,000km since new. Its estimated value ranges from £55,000 to £65,000.
The auction also includes a special British entry: a 1997 Aston Martin Vantage V550. Capable of nearly 190mph and one of fewer than 239 made, it is uniquely painted in McLaren Carbon Metallic to match its first owner's McLaren F1 hypercar. This car is expected to sell for between £140,000 and £170,000.
Completing the lineup is a sleek Italian model: the 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4. This end-of-production facelift model boasts Nero Serapis metallic black paint with Arancio Borealis accents. Its estimated price is between £65,000 and £75,000.
Auction Highlights
Damian Jones from H&H Classics commented on the significance of hosting such an event at Millbrook Proving Ground: "These high-performance motors couldn’t be more at home than at this famous automotive proving ground which has seen many awesome cars put through their paces over the years."
H&H Classics was established in 1993 as Europe's longest-running specialist automotive auction house. Over three decades later they continue setting world records for classic vehicles including motorcycles and royal cars like Queen Elizabeth II’s Daimler.
The upcoming auction promises an impressive display of low-mileage performance cars all gathered in one place—a rare sight indeed according to Damian Jones who added: "It’s rare to see such a breadth of low-mileage well-preserved performance cars all in one place."
