Hero Motocorp's Vida Nex 3 EV Concept Car: What’s so special?
Hero has developed the Vida Nex 3 EV concept, keeping urban mobility in mind. As India's electric car market booms, many new players are entering, and they want to dominate. Apart from car brands, many two-wheeler brands have EV ambitions, including India's largest two-wheeler maker, Hero Motocorp.
Just like Ola Electric, Hero also plans to introduce electric cars in the future. Recently, they have unveiled a concept vehicle at the EICMA 2025 event named 'Vida Nex 3'. This micro electric car was showcased alongside Hero's other concept bikes and scooters. So, what is this Nex 3 concept? What is so special about this micro EV car? Let's dive into the details.
About Hero Vida Nex 3
This Vida Nex 3 is a compact EV designed for urban commutes. Hero says the NEX 3 concept car was designed for longer distances and everyday utility. It is efficiently designed without compromising comfort and will be available for ages 14 to 99.
The Nex 3 gets a new door mechanism that slides the door to the top, allowing the passengers to enter and exit freely without worrying about door clearance. Passengers will love this feature, especially in urban conditions.
Inside, there is a customizable modular console that can be switched between rectangular and circular formats. Overall, the interior is designed very minimally and futuristic. Hero didn't reveal any details about its battery or range, but we believe it will be similar to other micro EVs.
Why are these Micro EV cars being developed?
Recently, Ola Electric patented a new micro-electric car, and it is also under development. All these compact electric cars offer practicality and convenience for urban users. Cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru have limited space and heavy traffic. Vehicles like the Vida Nex 3 will be much more convenient than a traditional four-seater car, which often gets stuck in traffic.
Also, the MG Comet's success is one of the main reasons why many brands are eyeing the microcar segment. In the future, these microcars would be in high demand due to growing car numbers and limited road space. The Vida Nex 3 EV will be further developed, and we hope to see the production version soon or within the next five years.
