Hennessey Launches 850 HP SUPER VENOM Mustang To Mark Company’s 1991 Founding Anniversary
Hennessey has unveiled its latest creation, the SUPER VENOM Mustang, boasting a significant power boost and enhanced aerodynamics. The Texas-based company has increased the factory 5.0L V8 engine's output by 70%, reaching 850 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. This model is limited to just 91 units worldwide, marking Hennessey's founding year, 1991.
The SUPER VENOM Mustang features a bespoke ‘VenomAero’ carbon fibre kit that improves handling and cooling. This includes a front splitter, hood vent, side skirts, fender louvers, rear deck lid with duck bill, and a fixed rear wing. These enhancements ensure optimal performance on both road and track.
To achieve this power increase, Hennessey has equipped the Mustang with a high-flow air induction system, supercharger, upgraded fuel injectors, and an advanced engine management system. The result is a muscle car capable of reaching 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds compared to the standard Dark Horse's 3.7 seconds.
Brian Jones, Hennessey's VP of Engineering, stated: "The Hennessey VenomAero track pack enhancements deliver improved handling and grip when driving the SUPER VENOM Mustang hard on road or track." The vehicle also completes the quarter-mile in 10.9 seconds at 133 mph.
Nathan Malinick, Director of Design at Hennessey, explained their approach: "We worked hard to celebrate the esteemed Mustang bloodline with the design of our SUPER VENOM." The interior features custom leather and Alcantara seats available in blue or black styles with embossed logos.
The exterior design includes unique liveries in black, silver, or red paired with factory paint colours. The ‘91 Icon Livery’ adds distinctiveness alongside lightweight performance wheels and signature badging for an exclusive look.
Ordering Information and Warranty
The SUPER VENOM Mustang is available through authorised Ford dealers like Galpin Ford and Ken Grody Ford or directly from Hennessey. Priced at $163,950 for the Dark Horse version and $149,950 for the GT model, both come with full Ford factory warranties plus a three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty from Hennessey.
John Hennessey expressed excitement about this release: "We are excited to unveil our SUPER VENOM Mustang as it offers supercar performance." Production is underway at their Sealy headquarters for global distribution.
